Ibogaine - the most important information

Under the term "ibogaine" is understood to be a substance that occurs naturally in plants from the western and central regions of Africa (the name of this plant is "abernanthe iboga"). Leaving aside its appearance or cultivation requirements, it should be mentioned that in the shrubs of this species - especially in the roots - there is an exceptionally high concentration of the substance in question. Ibogaine also occurs in other parts of the plant (stems, leaves), although the concentration then remains at a much lower and sometimes even trace level.

Few people would realize what it actually is ibogaineif it were not for the fact that the plant has a psychoactive effect. It is the narcotic effect that is the factor that makes it invariably used for ritual and religious purposes in some traditional cultures for many years - by taking the product, one can put oneself into a trance, which certainly helps to achieve religious rapture. A good example of this is the Bwiti African culture (religion), which is cultivated around Gabon.

However, the psychoactive nature does not mean that the drug should be treated as a drug. Moreover, the opposite seems to be true: iboga"Ibogaine. The Healing Power of Vision" by Peter Frankina is used worldwide for medical purposes, as part of the fight against addiction. In addition to this, however, it is also used as a psychoactive agent.

Ibogaine as an agent with psychoactive effects

Ibogaine can affect the functioning of the human body to varying degrees. In general, however, there are three main phases of "intoxication" in which a person's blood has been ibogaine. These stages are as follows:

  • The phase of so-called conscious sleep, which usually lasts for a period of the first few hours after taking the specific. What are its characteristics? As with many other psychoactive substances ibogaine It then causes a feeling of daydreaming. Hallucinations and visions may occur, and a person under the influence of this remedy begins to see people known in the past, former partners/partners, etc. Sometimes the person applying the extract of this African plant may seem to have moved to another dimension, unattainable for ordinary people;
  • maintenance phase, which lasts much longer - sometimes even several hours. On the other hand, however, this phase is characterized by a markedly weaker intensity than the stage of conscious sleep. A person is then more aware of the surrounding world and reacts better to stimuli, but can still have hallucinations and delusions,
  • revival phase. The name did not come from nowhere, as this is when the belief that all stimulants are no longer necessary to life occurs. It is sometimes suggested that it is the rebirth phase that is most beneficial, because it is during this phase that positive thoughts emerge, which can promote self-development, the desire to quit bad habits or repair relationships with loved ones.

Of course, the strength of ibogaine's effect depends on what doses are involved. While small doses (e.g., a few milligrams) will cause only a slight stimulation and a feeling of invigoration, the ibogaine in higher doses has effects typical of strong psychedelics (as described above).

Ibogaine as a therapeutic agent

As mentioned, ibogaine is used as an agent with therapeutic applications. One of the main areas in this field is the treatment of people struggling with various types of addiction.

Of course, ibogaine and its impact on the functioning of people addicted to hard drugs, for example, is an issue that is still fiercely debated. However, studies conducted in centers in the United States and England seem to confirm that the ibogaine can be an extremely effective agent during therapy. Interestingly, even small doses of this specific can be helpful. According to the aforementioned studies, the application of one gram can quench drug cravings even for a period of several weeks.

Of course, it must be borne in mind that the effectiveness with which it works ibogaine, can depend on such diverse factors as, for example:

  • the type of drug the patient is addicted to, and the stage of addiction,
  • Age, health status, past illnesses, etc.

Ibogaine. Summary

Ibogaine is still a fairly little-known aid in addiction therapy. It is gaining more and more interest primarily because of its high level of effectiveness. On the other hand, however, it should be borne in mind that comprehensive scientific research into the effects of ibogaine on the human body is still needed.

In addition, health issues must not be forgotten. Even before taking such a specific measure, which is undoubtedly a ibogaine, it is important to keep in mind how unpredictable its effects on human health can be. This is precisely why it is worth seriously considering the use of a preparation with such a strong psychoactive effect, and sometimes even consult a doctor.

In addition, it is worth remembering that ibogaine A specific that is quite expensive. Its price can be several hundred US dollars for... one gram of the substance. This state of affairs means that although ibogaine can provide an intense experience and some benefits, then you have to expect a strain on your wallet.

The position that the regularly applied ibogaine is always able to solve the problem of addiction. On the contrary: in many cases - especially when strong addiction is involved - it will be necessary to consult. It's not just about financial issues and the cost of ibogaine, but also the fact that the fight against addiction should be based on the pharmacological and psychological level, etc. This state of affairs means that ibogaine can be a valuable, but absolutely not the only way to fight addiction.

Last but not least, you must also remember the legal issues. This is very important because ibogaine... is illegal in our country (as in many other countries).

Ibogaine price

Ibogaine in the Western world is very expensive (and in countries where therapy with it is legal) - the cost of therapy is from $5 to several thousand dollars.
